Designing Like a STAR Contest -7Gypsies (week 6) & Christy Tomlinson RAK

Hey! :)
Well I made it through to week 7..... Here is my design for week 6...
It was a sketch challenge from www.pencillines.com. created by Trish Reed;



And here is my interpretation;



Design of the famous Bai Yun at the San Diego Zoo
Pattern paper from the 7gypsies "sushi journey" collection
Gold and green over lapping stamped images (with acrylic paint)
Bazil cardstock, Bling, rubons, Leaf, Ribbon, Gold Paint also used for border around page... TFL :)

Now the most exciting RAK I have ever heard of... I won at Christy Tomlinson's blog!!! WOW! Never thought I would win, and so did NOT think I would win anything close to this!!! I keep looking through everything over and over! I actually cried (don't tell anyone! LOL).... We were 7 in all to win!!

This weekend I decided to go to Toronto to visit my dad...... I drove........ 6 hours.......

Today, Monday, I drove home...... I got a phone call... It was Elisa!! She called to let me know I made the Design Team at Scrappin' Trends!!!

When I submitted , I didn't think I had much of chance since there are so many who would want this amazing oppertunity! Thanx for the amazing call Elisa! You made me so happy! And guess what?? No car accident when I got the news :)

I will post the latest design I made for the contest at the Chalet tomorrow... I made to round 7!!!!!!!!!!

Junkitz May Kit - Chihuahua Love (part 2)

Hello!
Just wanted to show you a page I just finished with my May Junkitz kit :)
I so love these papers! I was worried at first... but quickly fell in love! And I still have lots of paper left to play with (I'm at 2 LO and 1 card...)! Don't know what I will do next yet... LOL

But I am finishing my design for the Designing like a Star contest! Please, if you feel like joining the Chalet and voting for me... well I would be grateful! LOL We were over 50 and are now down to 16... 4 more people will be eliminated this week! And believe me, with the talent there.... I need all the help I can get! LOL

OK, sorry for taking your time with this, I'm somewhat stressed about it... Sketch challenge and all... not easy for me! LOL

Designing Like a STAR Contest at the Chalet (week 5)

Hello :) Hope you are all doing well! :)

Here is a quick look at my design for week 5.

I want you to go outside tomorrow and take 2 photos of something that inspires you.. It can be anything you want! It can be 2 photos of the same thing, or 2 photos of different things..

When you create your layouts and/or altered item, make sure you have a jounaling area, somewhere on the project telling us why the image in the photo inspires you..

Anything and everything else is up to you! Have Fun and Good Luck! I can't wait to see what you come up with..

Talk about difficult! You all should try this!
I started with flowers, crab apple tree... They were all done and not really "different" or original as far as inspiration would go... Timing is everything! LOL I received my kit... so there you have it! Amazing inspiration and to top it all off, what better way to chose paper to match your picture! LOL

A little doodling... with Maelynn Cheung

Hello! :)

As I previously posted, Maelynn came to chat at the Chalet for NSD! Love her!
I was one of the lucky one to win a RAK! I will post pics the moment I receive it!
All this to say, she gave us a challenge... Create a design with some doodling! Anyone who has been at this blog before knows, I JUST DON'T DOODLE! LOL A little lack of confidence in that area for some reason!

So - I took the plunge and LOVED it! It was fun :) May not be good, but fun! I had fun with the journaling... Fairy tale of sorts :)

Designing Like a STAR Contest at the Chalet (week 3)

Hello!! I know, I've been a bad bad blogger ;)

Quick update on the contest; I made it through round 3 and am now working on round 4 :)

Round 3:
Scraplift (something i really don't like to do, so I did it keeping in mind that it would be very different styles and colors.... I don't think it was very popular! LOL But I just didn't want to lift! Somewhat unconfortable with the entire concept!)
The first pic is from Jeanne, The second is my lift! I loved the slanting of the pics and layering, the flowers and the scrolly at the bottom... Anyhow, that was my take on things! ;)

And here is what i have been up to... or at least a peak! Round 4 is the peach, white and transparency photos ;)



And here is a little pic of my baby girl! :) Notice that the grass is almost as big as her! LOL
